The Parisian Valentine Restaurant

For Valentines this year, before Tony and I went out on our date, we set up a little restaurant for the kids. I don't want my kids to feel like they're any less important to me on Valentines, so we did a special dinner!

We had so much fun!  Dad and I TRIED to speak in french accents to them the whole night.  Yeah, they laughed.  We need to practice!

Also, this Valentines, Erica was given a SPECIAL Valentine....from a boy!  She told me that he made sure to let her know that it is just because they're friends, and he thinks she's really nice, and that he knows that she's not allowed to have a boyfriend.  Tony had a little bit of a heart attack.  We're not quite ready for this! Although, good job Erica!  I saw him at her class Valentine Party, and he is one cute boy ;)

A Jazz Dancer and a Jazz Player

Erica's Dance Team got to dance for the Pre-Show at a Jazz game.  She was so excited!  This was her first performance after switching from gymnastics to dance. She was pretty nervous, but afterward decided that dancing in front of crowds is her new life's calling!

Jace, Erica, Dad, and Gma Chandler all went to the game together.  Thankfully the Jazz won, went over 100 points and earned us all a Big Mac.  GO JAZZ!  You get me free dinner :)

  

On to the Jazz Player.  (Junior Jazz anyway)  Jace decided he wanted to try his hand at basketball this winter.  He was on a team filled with all of his friends from school and had tons of fun!  It was a great experience for him so he could get down the fundamentals of basketball before becoming a scout.  You know, so he can be ready to play basketball for activities all the time!

New Beginnings

I'm in charge of New Beginnings in our ward.  I have got to say, it is A LOT of work. I obsessed over it for two months!  But it turned out so great.  I have to post my pictures just to make myself feel better for all of the work that I put in!  I have 12 Beehives with me right now, and 4 more coming in this year, so I had a lot of helpers.  The theme that the girls chose was "Follow the Yellow Brick Road and Come Unto Christ."

They were each in charge of a table that represented a value and something from the Wizard of Oz.  For example, white/tornadoes/faith, red/individual worth/ruby slipper.  They decorated their table and then each gave a little blip about how their table relates to their value.  I was so very, very proud of them.  We had an activity the week before where they helped make some of the decorations.  They even helped the advisor and I make some of the handouts that were in a basket at each table.

It was a great night!  The new Beehives were thrilled to get to feel so important, and the current Beehives were so proud of what they had put together.  I absolutely love getting to work with Beehives. They are so excited to participate in all of the activities and are my greatest friends!
